 1. The basic language of communication is Japanese.

 But as for simple English, we can reply to your e-mail, fax, and communicate by phone. But unfortunately in the case of telephone, as most all staffs cannot speak English, please confirm whether the person who is speaking can speak English or not before speaking. If you failed to communicate with each other, please send an email or a fax one more time using simple English. The person in charge will reply as soon as possible after checking it. 

 

 2. There are no meals prepared in the cottage. You can prepare your own food in the kitchen(there are all kinds of cooking utensils.) ( Equipment in the cottage )

     <No marketplace is near by WINKEL.>

     So, if you don't have a car, we recommend you that you shold buy any meals before check-in.

      If you need pick up service, we can go to the marketplace after we pick you up.


 
3.Please provide us your exact information at the time of your reservation.

a. What date and how many nights do you want stay.
b. The number including each sex and age.
c. Phone number (home and mobile)
        If you have a mobile phone which can be used in Japan, please let us know that number.
        If you have stayed in a hotel before coming to our cottage, please let us know the name           of the hotel.
d. The date of entrance into Japan.
e. Check-in time
        Our reception is open from 9am to 7pm.
        And check-in time is 3pm to 7pm.
             (But if you cannot check in within our buisinessr time, please contact us before.)
f. How many cars.
g. Any additonal information

 

 4. Pick up service

      If you need, we can pick you up at JR Otaru Chikko station (not Otaru station).
      Please inform us pick up time beforehand.

 * Normally we don't provide any pick-up service, but for foreign customer, as you may have difficulties in communication, we can provide it 2:30pm to 6:30pm. (But on our condition we cannot pick you up case by case, so please check whether it is possible or not before, and for your sudden changing about pick-up(meeting) time, please call us beforehand. Without any contact of changing, you must use the local bus yourself.) It is also possible for you to ride a bus or taxi. < For the details  >
 

 

 5. You need to bring your own towel and toiletries.

       <No towel and toiletries in the normal cottages.>
           But in the cottages with outdoor bath, we have prepared a yukata, bath & face towel,             toothbrush, shampoo, hair-rinse, and soap.

 

 6. Deposit

 As the Winkel Cottage exists on a subscription basis only, you must pay a cash deposit in advance. The deposit is 5,000 Yen per house, per night.(For example, if you are going to stay for 3 nights in one cottage, the deposit would be 15,000yen.)

 * However, if you wish to book a Winkel Cottage holiday for the period of Nenmatsunenshi,
    all charges as listed here must be paid in advance, instead of the usual deposit. If you cancel your holiday for this
   period, you will forfeit all money paid as a cancellation fee
.

 **Nenmatsunenshi : Traditional Japanese holiday at the end of the year and the beginning of the year.
     As that period is changeable every year, you can check it from us.

     * Please attach your name and lodging date when you send the deposit.

 

 Please send a deposit within 10 days of your reservation. If you don't send the deposit, we cannot grantee your reservation. (If you are unable to send the deposit in 10 days, please contact us as soon as possible. Once you made your reservation, we will keep the log house for you. If you cancel without any notice you will lose your deposit and we may also charge a cancel fee.)

After sending the deposit, would you send a fax of counterfoil or a mail? Because it takes about 1 week or more to receive your remittance.

<About Cancellation>

 If you cancel after making a reservation, the deposit becomes a cancellation fee for breach of contract. If you are forced to cancel your stay with us due to uncontrollable events such as a natural disaster, the cancellation fee will be subject to consideration and may be waived.

  * Cancellation up to 2 days before arriving : Deposit is forfeited as cancellation fee.
  * Cancellation 1 day before or on the check-in day : You will be charged the full price as cancellation fee.
  * Canceling for Nenmatsunenshi : The cancellation fee will also be full charge, not 5,000yen,
     so please be careful of this.
 

 

 7. The payment is by cash only, and you just pay the bill minus the deposit.

        We are preparing for cresit card usage.  You will be able to use credit card soon.
