 Asarigawa onsen(hot spring) area is the place which artificiality coexists with nature in a good balance, so you can feel the nature easily within a short distance from the cities like Otaru and Sapporo.

 So, especially for busy modern people, it can satisfy their various wants in one time. (For example, Hotspring bathing, and outdoor leisure sports like ski / golf, climbing, swimming, yachting nearby, and tourism in the representative tourism places in the Hokkaido; it is within one day return from Otaru, Sapporo tourism.)

 The merits of Asarigawa onsen area can be experienced within the Winkel Cottage.

 Winkel Cottages consisits of 14 buildings, which are different from each other in size, interior, style, facility and atmosphere etc.

 Because Winkel cottages are made from wood,  you should feel very comfortable and relaxed when you come inside. Furthermore there are many kinds of cooking utensils and electric appliances, it's very comfortable to use.

 The structures of the cottages are mainly the same (even though each building is different from one another).Most of our cottage is two-storied and is equipted with a living room, kitchen,  bed room, loft, terrace, rest room and bath room.

 The bedding is a mattress  - traditional japanese beding system, "futon", (The number of mattress are limited to the capacity of each building).

 One more thing!

As you know, Japan is very famous for outdoor hot spring bathing.

6 buildings (building for 2 persons to building for 8 persons)  among the 14 buildings, there are outdoor hot spring bath on a terrace.
So, you can enjoy bathing while feeling the outdoor nature where you can enjoy beautiful mountain landscape.

Even if you stay in the normal cattage with no outdoor bath, you can enjoy outdoor baths at a low price near the Winkel cottage.

 Each cottage has a terrace with roof outside. So, you can enjoy outdoor barbecue even if it rains.

If you didn't prepare a barbercue, you can rent barbecue sets at the reception desk(execpt for food),

 * In Hokkaido, people do 'Zingisukan', - a grilled seasoning lamb meat which is a well-known product in Hokkaido. Zingisukan,

  Sapporo beer, and outdoor bath0 with family will make a good combination, and will leave great memory for couples and family.

 In the winter season, you can enjoy skiing nearby. There is Asarigawa ski resort within 10 minutes by foot behind Winkel cottage. After a full day of skiing, you can head over to the spa or enjoy bathing in the outdoor hot spring bath of the cottage.(Below is a photo of the Cottage which has an outdoor hot spring bath.)

 Additionally, there are many kind of electronic appliances like a TV, a CD-player, an air-conditioner, a refrigerator, a heater, a rice cooker, a cooking stove, a microwave oven, and many kinds of dishes, a frypan, and cups even a dish towel, a washing liquid etc. So, you can bring your own food and cook a meal freely.
