- Are the outside spas natural hot springs?
- Yes! 100% natural, weak alkaline water, containing elements of calcium, natrium, chloride-sodium and sulfuric acid. We change the water every day to ensure cleanliness.
- Are the prices per house or per guest?
- Every stay charge is per house and excludes tax. But we also offer a charge-per-person stay plan (Pair Plan on weekdays), please ask for further information.
- How do I make a reservation?
- Usually reservations are made with a ¥5,000 deposit paid to the Winkel bank account or by online payment system (PayPal). Payment by cash at reception is also possible. The deposit is part of the total accommodation charge.
- Is there wheelchair access?
- There is no barrier-free accommodation. However, Kazahana, a one-floor unit with outside spa may be suitable for guests using a wheelchair if they are accompanied by an able-bodied helper.
- Can we pitch our tent anywhere on the camp sites?
- The main Auto Camp site has allotted plots, so free camping is not possible.
But at the Boyou-schanze Auto Camp site (Winkel managed) you can choose your favorite spot. - Can bicycle or motorbike riders get a discount on the auto camp?
- The plots are designed for car parking, so campers using bicycle or motorbike must usually pay the same. But, space permitting cyclists or motorbike riders may be allowed to stay for ¥1,000 per person and share space with another camper.
- How do I get to Winkel from the nearest main train station?
- From Otaru Station take Chuo Bus, from bus stop No. 2 (Asarigawa Onsen Line bound for Asarigawa Onsen). There are 2 or 3 buses an hour. Get off at Onsen Saka-Ue bus stop, Winkel reception is down the small slope road across the street from the bus stop.
- What about day guests?
- Please remember: if day guests stay after 7 p.m. they will be charged as a full staying guest.
- Smoking
- No smoking is allowed inside the condominiums, but you may smoke on the terraces. Smoking is allowed inside each house.
- Is there a parking charge?
- No, you can park for free as a Winkel guest. But please tell us before arrival how many cars you expect your group to be using, so we can allocate enough parking spaces.
- Can we set off fireworks?
- There is no special space for setting off fireworks, and fireworks are totally banned on the terraces.
- Can we bring our pets?
- Yes, House C-1 and Camp area are available (Only dog). But condominiums are not suitable for animal guests.
